If you're new to Sugar Pig, let's get acquainted.

Part hilarious slice-of-life observations and part tear-jerker memoir, Sugar Pig is a funny, witty, eloquent blog that follows one woman as she recovers from her childhood and tries not to screw up her kids. Like a mom blog, only better.

Here are a few posts that give you the gist of what's going on:

I had a pretty rough childhood followed by a complicated relationship with each of my parents. It's my goal to give my children a childhood they don't have to recover from. Some days I do pretty well. Some days are a shitshow.

My mother died when I was 26, and that's a grief you never get over. My father passed when I was 35, but there was no love lost.

I never intended to be a stay-at-home mom; it just sort of happened. Now I have a part-time gig working from home on top of running a household, raising two kids, and chasing a dog.

Parenthood is appreciably harder than I imagined. As a introvert, there's a lot more together time than I bargained for. There's also a lot more humor.
